Admittedly, many people were left scratching their heads and crying foul when it was announced a few weeks ago that Atlanta rapper Soulja Boy would be starring as Bishop, a role made famous by the late Tupac Shakur, in the independent remake of the Ernest Dickerson flick, Juice. And now rapper-actor Ice-T, who’s been critical of Soulja in the past, is making it known that he thoroughly disapproves of the film.
In a recent interview with Shade 45 satellite radio, the “Law & Order: SVU” actor was given the news of the film’s creation and promptly shared his unfavorable opinion about the flick.
“What?! But that’s Pac,” Ice-T responded to the news. “At some point somebody gotta stop it, I came out I made some statements … maaan, I don’t know. Do you dude, do you. If the masses accept it, it shows you the state we’re in[…] Come on man, you think I’d try to remake Pac’s movie? Good luck though, I’m not a hater …”
Back in 2008, Ice-T and Soulja Boy went head-to-head over Ice-T’s criticism over the “Pretty Boy Swag” rapper’s lyrical skills. Although Ice-T seemingly had no interest in rehashing the old battle, Soulja Boy quickly responded to Ice-T’s comments, calling him a loser via his Twitter page.
“Ice-T mad cuz I pulled up in the 2012 LOL i’m sitting on a red n—a. haha young n—z taking over” Soulja tweeted. “i’m done with this n—a. someone get this guy a hairline asap. If your name is Ice-T you are #losing not #winning better yet you #lost”
