This year’s Tribeca Film Festival hosted a special tribute to the legendary Quincy Jones, a 27-time Grammy Award winner, at Hiro Ballroom in New York. As part of a new initiative, TFI presented a special Legacy Celebration to honor Quincy Jones for his contributions to cinema and music as well as his philanthropic efforts across the globe. According to imdb.com, the self-proclaimed biggest, best, most award-winning movie site on the planet, Jones has collectively produced 50-plus awards shows, made-for-TV movies, TV documentaries and the like; composed 50-plus titles, including The Color Purple and Roots; and 85 soundtracks for “Glee,” “Dancing with the Stars,” and Kill Bill Vols. 1 and 2. –yvette caslin
