Last week, Atlanta’s own Lloyd Polite released the highly anticipated album “King Of Hearts.” The album has already gained lip-service support from listeners and those asked their opinion of the album. Its compelling features, catchy melodies, and insane beats made it an easy listen.
However, it appears as if the album sales for the first week do not back this claim.
The album sold only 26,000 in the United States as posted on billboard.com, which could be a reflection of the times more than the quality of the release. Those meager sales were, however, enough to claim the number 10 spot on the Billboard 200 and was the highest debuting album on the charts for that week.
“King of Hearts” is Lloyd’s third top 10 album. I’m sure with more time, radio play, and “word of mouth” support that the album will surely continue to sell. Just shows you have the aspects of the music game are changing. I won’t dwell on that topic though…that’s another article to be written!
