According to sources, the main issues between them are in regards to production costs. The theatrical Kanye West wants to rival rock stars with a ‘Flashy’ and over-the-top set that could cost over $400,000 per show, while Jay-z wants to be more cost effective since he’s got a huge advance from his long-term Live Nation contract to pay back.
“Jay-z can’t deal with Kanye. Jay is a stone-cold businessman. He wants to recoup all of his money from Live Nation. But Kanye wants to upstage rock stars with a blowout show. He doesn’t care about costs. He has a lot less to gain from the shows.”
Jay and Yeezy were both at the Young Jeezy’s Highline Ballroom show last Monday, but shocked many when they appeared separately instead of performing a track from their collaborative album ‘Watch The Throne’.
“We were expecting them to come out together to perform a track from the album,” a source said. “They didn’t even go out together after the show.”
Hopefully this little ‘tiff’ will be over soon. Some of you may remember what happened with Jay’s last collaborative album tour. He chucked the deuces to R. Kelly after they beefed during the 2004 ‘Best of Both Worlds’ Tour. He he wrapped up the remaining tour dates with featured special guests.
