What you need:
For dark circles: a yellow based, creamy concealer in one shade lighter than your natural skin tone. This color masks the blue discoloration and brightens the skin.
For extreme darkness: use a corrector. Peach or pink in color, a corrector counteracts the purple or green tones underneath the eyes that a concealer can’t cover on it’s own. If your skin is pale, choose the lightest colors, starting with bisque or light pink. For deeper skin tones, choose a medium or dark peach.
How to do it:
1. Apply a light eye cream underneath the area. It should absorb quickly and leave your skin feeling smooth.
2. If you are using corrector, gently use your finger or a concealer brush to apply it at the inner corner of the eye. Continue to place underneath the eye, staying close to the lashes and applying wherever you see darkness. Gently blend the corrector using the warmth from your fingers.
3. Using a concealer brush or your index finger, start applying your concealer in thin layers. Be sure to blend well. Apply all the way up to your lash line and onto the dark areas near the inner corners of your eyes.
4. Apply as you need using your finger to gently pat into the skin. Remember less is more, if you still see dark circles, then apply a second layer.
5. Once your concealer is finished being applied, lock it in by applying a pale yellow powder or translucent powder over the concealer and on the eyelids with a small powder puff. This will make your concealer stay put and prevent creasing underneath the eyes.
6. Continue with the rest of your makeup routine, making sure most importantly to blend your foundation into the perimeter of your concealer for a seamless finish and brightening effect.
