Nearly 4,000 individuals converged at Park Tavern, situated just on the outskirts of Piedmont Park in Atlanta, for the second annual One MusicFest. Attendees enjoyed live music, drinks and food as the 12-hour event coincided with Chef Romero’s “Crab & Shrimp Festival” also held at the mid city park.
Artists who hit the stage included Chrisette Michele, The Cool Kids, Anoop Desai (formerly of AI), Anthony David, Foreign Exchange, and popular old school hip hop group, The Pharcyde. The Atlanta Music Project made good use of the occasion by accepting instruments from music lovers at the event for young inspiring musicians.
Jay Carter, the organizer of ONE MusicFest, recently spoke with rolling out about the importance of the outdoor festival.
“What people don’t realize is that if One MusicFest wins, we all truly win,” Carter said. “There are no multicultural or urban outdoor festivals in the heart of the city. There are different types of music that we all love and share. This event is designed for true music lovers, and that’s really what this city needs more than anything.”–amir shaw
