Another Shakeup in the Will and Jada Pinkett Smith Camp

Jada Pinkett Smith’s hour-long medical drama, “HawthoRNe,” just got the ol’ ax from TNT. The network cited a sharp decline in viewership over this time last season, down to 2.4 million from 3.2 million. Viewers and former viewers cited via Facebook and Twitter the dark turn the show took with season three, which saw the additions of Derek Luke and Marc Anthony to try and beef up the cast.

“I was a loyal fan of ‘HawthoRNe; and love Jada Pinkett Smith. Season one and two were great however the show seem to have lost its way in season three. I hung in there hoping there would be some light at the end of the tunnel. It never came. I am not surprised it was cancelled,” said a Facebook commenter.

It may be coincidental, but the cancellation comes during a time when rumors of trouble within the power couple’s marriage are flooding entertainment news outlets.  The rumors have gone from “swinging gone awry” getting in the way of Jada and Will’s otherwise harmonious union to Jada having a thing for her co-host, Marc Anthony.  There have been no confirmations one way or the other and the couple has been seen in public in various states — including Jada, ringless — since the rumors first hit.

The fire seems to have just gone from one alarm to two.

“HawthoRNe,” TNT’s second lowest rated series, was an Overbrook Entertainment (Will Smith) production.
