That cool app, software or online game is getting rave reviews from your family, sorors or frat brothers. While that’s great, unless they own an IT investment firm it’s likely to put nada in the bank. Looking to tighten up your game for IT investors? Get some help with the fast-moving world of IT investing and presentation at the following IT conferences:
Launch – This is competition at it finest. Be prepared to demo your product at the Silicon Valley. Two tracks: one for start-ups with no press and still in private beta or companies that are launching new products. Winners go home with funding.
New York Tech Meetup – An intimate 800-person event held on the mezzanine at NYU, NYTM is a fast sellout. A demo-oriented event, don’t be surprised to see NYC Mayor Bloomberg working the crowd, espousing New York City’s Silicon Alley. Can’t make the annual event? Get in on the smaller monthly meet-ups.
Techcrunch Disrupt – Held in Beijing, China, this year, a tech start-up that is looking to launch big should seriously consider this conference. Have your game face on if you demo your product here. Questions are tough and you get one shot at this rung in the tech ladder.
BlogWorld Expo – Bicoastal and corresponding to TechCrunch Disrupt, this convention is the place to be if you want to speak on social media and blogging.
140 Character Conference – This conference marries Twitter to commerce and community. High energy, engaging and covering a broad range of topics, presenters have a set time to make their point. Kinda what would happen if TED merged with Twitter.
FOWA – As in “Future of Web Apps” This conference attracts top drawer IT speakers like tech gurus Gary Vaynerchuk, Bob Baldwin and Jason Calacanis.
BlogHer – The recent number of women bloggers topped 27 million. This conference gives exposure to those who write informative content. An added bonus or bane — 10 to 15 percent of the attendees are men.
IBF – Focused and specialized, the International Business Forum hosts big summits around health and wellness, medical technology and clean-tech.
