Usher Signs Justin Bieber
In 2008, the era of teen pop domination was on the wane, as hip-hop ruled the charts. But Canadian teen Justin Bieber was getting ready to change all of that and instead of signing with a more pop friendly label, the pint-sized crooner signed with R&B legend Usher Raymond, Braun Media Group and L.A. Reid’s Island Records. Bieber would quickly begin to rule the charts and form surprising alliances with two of hip-hop’s most elite emcees — Kanye West and Ludacris.
