MC Hammer's Financial Troubles Return, Find Out How Much He Owes: 6 Other Celebs With Repeat Debt Scandals

Rap veteran MC Hammer is just as famous for his massive pop/hip-hop hits as he is infamous for his famous financial decline, which cost him tens millions of dollars. Now, after years of rebuilding his brand and trying to distance himself from past financial screw ups, MC Hammer has, once again, found himself in major debt.

According to TMZ, the IRS has filed a lawsuit against MC Hammer, claiming that he owes the U.S.government $779,585 in back taxes. The debt apparently stems from the years 1996 and 1997, when Hammer was deep in his original financial crisis.

The IRS is now demanding that any of Hammer’s future concert earnings be redirected toward paying off his outstanding debt.

Hammer originally found himself in trouble with the IRS in 1996, when he filed for bankruptcy after burying himself in $13 million worth of debt due to his outrageous spending habits.

Hopefully, Hammer can make some much-needed money from his recent WireDoo search engine business venture. If not, we guess it will be a repeat of 1996 all over again for him. But Hammer isn’t the only repeat celebrity offender when it comes to owing Uncle Sam. Here are  six other celebs with multiple debt scandals. –nicholas robinson
