Derrick Rose is closer to being a quarter of a billion dollars richer. According to a report from ESPN, Rose will sign a $250 million lifetime deal with Adidas. Adidas decided to sign Rose to the lucrative deal because his shoes outsell Nike’s LeBron James shoes in China and is second behind Kobe Bryant’s shoes.
Since Nike introduced Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan shoes in 1984, sneaker companies have attempted to find the next NBA star to endorse their bran. Although there hasn’t been an NBA star to duplicate Jordan’s success, shoe companies continue to throw big money at the top athletes.
