Destiny’s Child
After her previous copyright scandal, Beyoncé and her Destiny’s Child group mates, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, were sued in 2009 by an unknown songwriter for copyright infringement over the song “Cater 2 U.” The case was quickly settled before the case could go to trial, though it was reported that the lawsuit caused friction between Kelly and Beyoncé’s father, Mathew Knowles.
