What is one thing that you wish you knew before starting your company?
The importance of staffing your weaknesses. This is something that I had to learn the hard way. I realized that I couldn’t juggle so many clients and events, so I had to staff people with expertise in areas where I was working hard to grasp.
How do you address conflict in the workplace?
I just have to remember that although diversity provides a wider perspective in a company, it also means that you have to learn to work with various personalities and interests. So I address conflict with an open mind and do all that I can to be respectful of different opinions.
What is your philosophy on making mistakes?
Making mistakes is a part of professional growth. Entrepreneurship can be a cruel teacher. Many times, it gives the test and teaches the lesson afterwards. And that’s what stumbles and mistakes are; it should give you knowledge of “what NOT to do.”
