With the backing of two famous parents and an equally famous last name, a teen rapper is following in his father’s footsteps with a new music video. Jaden Smith, 13, has released the video for his track “Give It to ‘Em” chronicling his life in the spotlight. The older brother to 11-year-old Willow raps about living in his father’s shadow while trying to claim his own identity. “Just 13 trying to live my life/Got in trouble once but I only did it twice/Man there goes Will’s kid walking into the Hilton/My name’s Jaden get it right.”
While Smith is currently unsigned, he’s previously rapped on tracks with his good friend and “big brother” Justin Bieber. In addition to furthering his music career, Smith is said to be vying for the role of a teen assassin in an upcoming film for his father’s Overbrook Entertainment.
