Miss USA Pageant’s Black Contestants

The world has welcomed the new Miss USA 2012 Olivia Culpo with open arms, praising her for her style, grace and poise. Miss USA, an annual pageant sponsored by Donald Trump, is the precursor to Miss Universe 2012.

The pageant featured women from across the 50 states vying for the title by competing in swimwear and slinky evening gowns, as per its 60 year tradition. Only four of those ladies were black, however: Miss District of Columbia, Miss Georgia, Miss Illinois and Miss Maryland.

Before the pageant on June 3, we posted pictures of the past and present black Miss USA contestants showcasing their slim physiques in skimpy bikinis while wearing mega-watt styles. And now that Miss USA 2012 has aired, let’s take another look at Miss District of Columbia, Miss Georgia, Miss Illinois and Miss Maryland to see what the judges may have missed.
