While Nicki Minaj was busy being in the trap, it looks like someone else was busy robbing her bank account. A new report claims that she was recently swindled out of $100,000 by a local man in her native Trinidad.
According to RadarOnline, Star magazine has confirmed that Minaj believes she was swindled by film producer Ellis Briggs, who was hired to produce her upcoming “Pound The Alarm” music video.
Briggs, who reportedly owns a production company, took Minaj’s money and failed to deliver on his end of the bargain, causing a “logistical nightmare” for the rest of the crew.
According to police, London Alley Entertainment, which shot and produced the Benny Boom directed clip, has filed a report against Briggs and that Briggs has filed a counter claim of his own.
Briggs denies any wrongdoing and claims that Minaj’s production company actually owes him $19,000 for services fulfilled and that the negative press has hurt his business.
Briggs counter claim is being treated as a breach of contract by police and a final conclusion to prosecute could be made in days.
