Rape is Something “God Intended”

Several male members of the Republican Party voiced their twisted opinions on rape during the election. Todd Akin said, “If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has a way to shut the whole thing down.” Richard Mourdock took things further by saying, “Women don’t get pregnant from legitimate rape.” He also said, “even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen.” There aren’t many rational women who would want such views to come from potential leaders of this country.
