The Gamma Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated, in conjunction with the Gamma Sigma Charitable and Educational Fund hosted its Annual Bounty Ball fundraiser Saturday, Nov. 10, at the elegant Crowne Plaza Hotel in Houston. The Mardi Gras themed ball is one of many fundraisers that the organization employs to help provide hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships and grants to aid those pursuing higher education, as well as support the needs of young parents through Project Reassurance and Project Cradle Care. The sorority supplies food, clothing, eye exams and glasses to the less fortunate and eligible students.
“Tonight we are asking for your assistance in raising funds to help children see and build a vision for their future, as we work to build upon and reinforce Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority’s legacy of greater service, greater progress through various community outreach programs and support for those in need” said Gamma Sigma chapter president, Glenda Clausell Elliott.
Award presentations for corporate sponsors and community partners along with music, dancing, raffles and giveaways preceded the dinner which was followed by closing remarks from Bounty Ball Chairperson, Julia Andrews and GSCEF chairperson, Daisy R. Hall.
