NeNe Leakes and Gregg Leakes endured one of reality TV’s most infamous divorces, as their marriage dissolved on camera during the third and fourth seasons of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” But after a year apart, Gregg is adamant about his feelings for her on the new season of the show. But what exactly caused the rift between the reconciled lovers? Well, according to NeNe, it may have been infidelity.
In her new cover feature for Ebony, NeNe claims that she had nothing to do with the failure of their marriage and says it was Gregg’s wandering eye that caused them to split.
“It hurt me to file for divorce, but I had to see it through. I let him know you’re going to be my husband and you’re not going to be somebody else’s anything, but if you plan to be somebody else’s anything, then we can’t be together,” Leakes reveals. “Gregg needed to feel what it was like without me. I wanted to let him see if the grass was really greener on the other side. He brought his a– back, because the grass is very brown over there.”
NeNe reveals that she and Gregg are now back together, though she admits their romance has been a whirlwind due to the show.
“Not only have we divorced, but we are back together as a couple. This is our new normal. I’m telling you, TV is a beast. It will make you do s—t you never thought you’d do,” she said.
“To expose oneself is the beginning of healing and the beginning of forgiveness. I have never blamed her for anything except being outstanding,” Gregg added. “If I didn’t blame her [for the relationship’s demise], I must have had shortcomings. Whatever it was, I refused to have my family become another statistic. I fought to get my family back, and that’s what I did with the help of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
And when asked if he plans on marrying NeNe, once again, Gregg replied, “Stay tuned. How do you know I haven’t already?”
