Struggling to expand their family, the Freis discovered that Kristi had advanced endometriosis and would not be able to conceive or bear another child. They found Tira through the Adoption Center of Choice and adopted Achane’s daughter, who they named Leah.
In a long battle that has been dubbed by Archane’s attorney Mark Wiser as a “Case of human trafficking,” the court has ordered the Freis to return Leah to Achane within “60 days.” They refuse. They’re seeking to have Archane’s parental rights terminated.
