T.I. calls out someone on 'Addresses'; 10 other songs you didn't know were disses

“Drop A Gem On ‘em” by Mobb Deep
Target: 2Pac

“Knocked out the box and got rocked/Got raped on the Island–you officially got/Kick that thug s–t, Vibe magazine on some love s–t…”

“When you see my clique you need to run behind s–t/You gotta gat? You betta find it/And use that s–t — think fast and get reminded/Of robberies in Manhattan/You knew what happened…”

2Pac and Mobb Deep had bad blood–allegedly over the fact that both were known for screaming “thug life” in the mid-1990s. 2Pac famously had the term tattooed on his abdomen and used the name for his crew. Mobb Deep was known for chanting “thug life, we still livin’ it” on a few songs. Pac famously blasted Havoc and Prodigy on “Hit ‘Em Up,” and they responded with this cut, which was released underground in late August/early September 1996. But after Pac was murdered, the song was buried on Mobb Deep’s Hell On Earth album and no further publicity was given to the feud.
