T.I. calls out someone on 'Addresses'; 10 other songs you didn't know were disses

“My Melody” by Eric B & Rakim
Target: Big Daddy Kane

“So what if I’m a microphone fiend? Addicted soon as I seen/One of these 4 MCs–so they don’t have to scream…”

“I’m droppin bombs, but I stay peace and calm/Any MC that disagree with me — wave your arm/And I’ll break, when I’m through breakin,’ I’ll leave you broke/Drop the mic when I’m finished — and watch it smoke …”

Marley Marl produced this track (and much of the classic Paid in Full album) for Eric B. & Rakim. He brought along “four emcees” he was mentoring (MC Shan, Kool G Rap, Biz Markie and Kane) to a recording session. Kane reportedly grew impatient and started screaming obnoxious comments about Ra taking a long time to write his rhymes. So Ra let BDK know where he stood with this famous verse.
