Unapologetic by Rihanna
Rihanna’s released an album almost every year since she debuted in 2005. Does that make her prolific? Sort of. But when every album starts to sound like outtakes from the previous one, maybe it’s worth slowing down your output to actually craft something that doesn’t sound tossed together. She hasn’t really released anything that felt like a statement since “Rated R,” and she seems to trade too much on her tabloid-friendly image. This is the sound of stagnation.
