Most celebrities have had embarrassing jobs that they wish they could bury with their pre-fame days, and while some have been successful in keeping their career dirty laundry a secret, others, like Game, have not been so lucky. Thanks to a loose-lipped relative of the Compton, Calif., emcee, it’s now been revealed that the buff rapper was once a scantily clad stripper.
Back in 2006, rumors began floating about Game’s stripper past, when 50 Cent released the mixtape G-Unit Radio Part 21: Hate It or Love It, which boasted a photo of Game in a strip club wearing a G-string. 50 maintained that Game was once a stripper who performed under the name “Doja,” but many fans dismissed his claims as nothing more than an unfounded attack.
However, in a new interview with Pitchfork TV, Game’s stepfather, Hodari Sababu, confirmed 50’s earlier claims, saying that Game once worked for him as an exotic dancer.
“Me and Game’s mom started a male exotic club,” he began. “We used to get guys that came fresh out of jail, they was buffed up and needed money. A lot of these guys can’t go and fill out an application and get a job but hey, if they look good, they been working out we put ‘em on, man.”
“Jayceon danced there maybe twice and 50 cent will not let him forget it,” Sababu added. “Somehow somebody got pictures of him dancing in that club with his g-string on and boy boy boy … Whether he likes it or not, I tell him the truth. Because just like most people that achieve a certain amount of fame and fortune … that comes with the a– kissers. They’re around all the time to say you’re the greatest thing because most of them are on the payroll. But fortunately — or unfortunately — I’m not on the payroll so I can tell you exactly what I think.”
Well, as embarrassing as it may be for him, Game isn’t the only star who was once an exotic dancer. Check out some other celeb with stripper pasts below. –nicholas robinson
