Burt Reynolds, actor and Hollywood hunk, was recently released from the intensive care unit after battling complications from the flu.
The Georgia native began his Hollywood career as a football player; after the family relocated to Florida, Reynolds attended Florida State University on a scholarship. After a football injury, the hunky jock set his sights on the big lights of Tinsel Town.
In the late 1950s, Reynolds landed the role of Quint in “Gunsmoke,” a popular television series.
One of Reynolds most famous roles was in the ’70s film, Deliverance, where he portrayed an Atlanta businessman traveling with friends in the Georgia wilderness.
