Morehouse college shooting
Police were called to the campus of Morehouse college Friday after reports of a shooting. According to officials, a student was shot after an argument over a pick-up basketball game. The shooting took place at Samuel A. Archer Hall and the victim was struck in the forearm. Police have not released the name of the student who is currently at Grady Hospital in stable condition. No one else was injured.
“Police believe there are two suspects, and they are believed to be students of the Atlanta University Center, but have not yet been identified,” said spokeswoman Elise Durham in a statement. Durham also confirmed that four shots were fired.
Prior to the shooting the historically black college made headlines after John Silvanus Wilson Jr. took the reigns as the institution’s 11th President.
This marks Atlanta’s second school shooting in recent days. Thursday a teen opened fire at Price Middle School in Southeast Atlanta.
