What is your background?
I’m Nigerian. I was born in Brooklyn, New York but raised in Nigeria, London and the D.C., Maryland, Virginia area. I went to Morgan State University but I didn’t finish because I pursued my dream to become a model.
What made you want to join the “Bad Girls Club” cast?
Valentina: I wanted to be on “Bad Girls Club” because I wanted to show something different than what they’ve seen before. I wanted to represent Nigerian Americans. I feel like I am the definition of an African-American. I didn’t come on “Bad Girls Club” to fight, that’s what wack chicks do. I came on “Bad Girls Club” to have fun.
What made you stand out on your audition tape?
The fact that when you look at me you would think, ‘oh [look at] this prissy girl.’ People don’t realize that I’m an athlete, I play tough sports. I played one of the toughest sports; rugby. I swam, I ran track. I also go after men that have power, I’m well traveled. It’s rare to find a country that I haven’t been to.
How do you find such high-profile men to date?
I don’t know what it is. There’s literally like a halo around me when I walk into a room. You don’t even have to see me, your back could be to me and you’ll feel my energy. You got to be confident. Say what you mean and mean what you say, walk to the beat of your own drum.
What is it about your cast mate, Alicia, that you like most?
The first thing I like about Alicia is that she’s beautiful. [She has] red hair, beautiful eyes, the dimples, she’s freaking gorgeous. She just has a cool vibe about her. I go off energy and her energy seemed right to me. I like the fact that she was unique.
What’s happening with your music?
I’m in the studio. I’m rapping and singing. I’m going to release a snippet of something. I’m bringing my Nigerian vibe, my British house influence and hip-hop, and I’m meshing those all together.
