In January 2012, Spelman alum Rosalind Brewer became president and CEO of Sam’s Club, becoming the first woman and first African American to helm a Walmart business. Brewer joined Walmart in 2006 as regional vice president and rose to executive vice president and president of Walmart East prior to Sam’s Club.
