The last in a four album run of classics that forever changed the way the world looked at hip-hop, the Kings from Queens still dabble in rap-rock, but their mid-’80s, digital boom-bop has been replaced with more sample-oriented production. Run and D sound inspired and aggressive throughout, with the former, in particular, elevating his lyrical game to fit the post-Rakim era of rhyming.
