Now that you are well into your life as a cast member of “Real Housewives,” is it what you expected?
Nothing could have ever prepared me for filming a reality show of this magnitude. I felt that I was thrown into the fire with no lifeline.
Is it tough dealing with all of the personalities on the show? How do you handle it?
It is tough whenever there are seven women in a room and none are your friends. I didn’t know any of these women prior to joining the show and they all have history to which I was not privy. It was easy with some of the ladies, and hard with others. I have a strong personality and came to the show with my own identity, so the better question probably would be how they handled me.
Does celebrity ever become exhausting?
Not yet! I think I’ve flown under the radar most of the time I’ve been in the public eye. I think “RHOA” is changing that. I love being able to help people and celebrity and a platform affords that.
How do you separate you the person from you the celebrity — and does it ever get difficult to separate the two?
That sounds schizophrenic! I am the same girl from Detroit that I always have been. I treat people the way I want to be treated and I never take myself too seriously.
