Audre Lorde


Audre Lorde once said, “You can not use the tools of the master to build a new house,” signaling the necessity  for change in the construction of the black identity. Lorde’s primary focus was the operation of black femininity in juxtaposition to the hyper masculine black male identity. Lorde referred to this as intersectionality.
