No. 1: Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd (1973)
The Floyd’s uber-classic stayed on the Billboard charts for almost 30 years because every generation of “aficionados” discover the spaced-out genius of this masterpiece. A concept album about disillusionment in modern society and dark as all get out, the album is full of beautiful melodies and lush, atmospheric (there’s that word again) production.
