Wu-Tang Clan affiliate, rapper Shyheim Franklin, 35, is currently in jail after being arrested last week on felony charges. The story surfaced today (April 23rd) that authorities raided the home of Franklin, who rose to fame as a teen rapper in the early 1990s. The police discovered a gun and drugs during the 6:00 a. m. raid this weekend after a warrant had been issued to search Franklin’s apartment.

According to reports, the police found a .32 caliber Serrifile Inc. Terrier One revolver and five rounds of ammo inside. Franklin is a convicted felon. The police also allegedly discovered 41 glassines of heroin in a safe under his bed, a xanax pill in a plastic zipper bag, and a scale alongside empty bags and glassines under his bed.

Franklin was arraigned in Stapleton Criminal Court on Saturday on several felony and misdemeanor charges.

Shyheim had a promising career in the 1990s as the youngest affiliate of the Wu-Tang Clan. His 1994 debut, AKA The Rugged Child, was particularly well-received and he landed a few movie roles and a high-profile appearance in TLC’s iconic video for their smash single Waterfalls.

He is facing second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance charges, according to District Attorney Daniel Donovan’s office. He is currently still being held in Rikers Island on $10,000 bail. He is due to make an appearance in court today.
