The Las Vegas Urban League has tapped Kevin E. Hooks as their new CEO.

“The role of CEO is very critical to our success and our future,” says Rev. Donald Chaney, chairman of the Board in a statement to press. “Therefore, we were thorough and inclusive in finding the best candidate to take us to the next level.”

Hooks brings a wealth of experience and resources from Corporate America, rendering him the best candidate for the job.

Most recently, Hooks served as the executive vice president of Weber Shadwick in the Greater Los Angeles area where he was a highly sought-after speaker who developed, delivered, and aggregated content — both digital and analog, across all channels. His core strength, “creating and shaping business.”

The Las Vegas Clark County Urban League Affiliate was established in 2004. Being one of the newer affiliates, they are committed to building upon the strong legacy of the Urban League’s rich history in impacting their respective communities. The Las Vegas affiliate invested a little over a year looking for new leadership.

“Mr. Hooks has been a part of the Urban League family for nearly 20 years, serving as one of the youngest members on the National Board of Trustees, and a founding partner of the National Urban League Young Professionals auxiliary group,” offers Detrick Sanford, who serves as a member of the board.

“Kevin brings a wealth of knowledge and access to the Las Vegas Affiliate. He has a rich history in the Urban League movement and a proven track record of success. We proudly support his appointment” adds, Marc Morial, president of the National Urban League.

“I am excited and humbled by this appointment. I look forward to serving the Las Vegas Clark County community,” noted Mr. Hooks.

In an effort to continue meeting the needs of the people in the communities it serves, Hooks will assume his new role in early May.
