The closet door is open wider
Collins isn’t the first pro athlete to come out of the closet, but he is the first male pro baller player to come out as openly gay while still in the league. LGBT players who have come before him have certainly altered the mind-set of the world and paved the way for Collins. Collins’ groundbreaking move will undoubtedly do the same in paving the way for other closeted and active league players to come out of the closet as well.
