Snoop Lion has undergone several reinventions throughout his career. He’s been a gangsta, a legendary weedhead, a space age funk master, an actor and even a porn musician. But one role that’s become a defining part of his persona is his title as a pimp. In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Snoop opens up about his pimp past and explains why he got into the scandalous business.
During the interview, Snoop claims that he once followed in the footsteps of former “Hollywood Madame” Heidi Fleiss and ran his own stable of prostitutes.
According to Snoop, his main clientele included some of the sports world’s biggest athletes, of whom, remain nameless.
“If I’m in a city where where the Denver Broncos or the Nuggets play, I get a couple of the players to come hang out, pick and choose, and whichever one you like comes with a number,” he explained. “A lot of athletes bought p–sy from me.”
But while every other pimp in the game was doing it for money, Snoop claims that he didn’t care about making a profit; he simply did it to fulfill his childhood dream of being a pimp.
“I’d act like I’d take the money from the b–ch, but I’d let her have it,” he says. “It was never about the money; it was about the fascination of being a pimp . . . As a kid I dreamed of being a pimp, I dreamed of having cars and clothes and b**ches to match. I said, ‘F–k it, I’m finna do it.’”
