In 2011, Larry Davis, then 22-years-old, lost his cool because his grandmother, Cora Davis, refused to give him $175 and gave him $1 instead. So he beat her and choked the 76-year-old family matriarch to death. The same day, he hooked up with a prostitute at her Harlem, N.Y., apartment and stuffed her lifeless body into a closet. He was caught in his grandma’s bed with “Christina” by his uncle.
Davis is currently standing trial in a Manhattan Supreme Court for the March 28 murder. During the attack, she suffered a broken neck and at least eight bruises on her skull. She also was stricken with asthma and had a heart condition.
During his arraignment, Davis told authorities he was “freaking out because I never saw a dead body before in my life.” He pleaded not guilty.
He’s also standing trial for the Aug. 19, 2010, murder of Brooklynite Richard McCoy, a transgender known as Denise, who was allegedly strangled by Davis during rough sex. Davis’ DNA was recovered from cigarettes at the Brownsville crime scene.
Davis is in custody at Rikers.
