Would you be interested in a weekend trip to space?
While this may sound a little absurd, the geniuses over at PayPal seem to be convinced that one day space tourism will be available to all. The company launched a new division, PayPal Galactic, that is said to be the simple solution to all things financial during space travel.
There are rumors that privately-owned space tourism companies such as Virgin Galactic and SpaceX are doing everything they can to open the door of opportunity for the general public to be able to experience space exploration. Virgin Galactic is trying to make that possible by the end of this year. Back in 2011, Fox News reported that Russia was working on building and operating a space hotel that would be open for business in 2016 and a Dutch company, Mars One, is opening a colony on the planet Mars – say what?
While the initiative is still in the early phase, PayPal Galactic wants space tourists to be able to make purchases and astronauts to pay bills on Earth while working in space. The company has already launched a website that gives details and fully explains the reason and advantages for PayPal Galactic.
I will pass on this trip, but if you’re interested, click here to check out PayPal Galactic.
