He played off Will Smith’s character brilliantly as the geek cousin Carlton Banks in “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” for six years. After the show ended, you might recall that Ribeiro played a similarly maddening character in In the House opposite LL Cool J for another five years.
Ribeiro has mostly focused on behind the scenes since, enhancing the directing skills he showed a flair for on “Fresh Prince.” He has directed episodes of “Meet the Browns” and “Are We There, Yet?” and other sitcoms. He also made an appearance as Carlton Banks on the Nickelodeon teen show “Big Time Rush.”
