Don Lemon blasted for his “No Talking Points”
After siding with certain points of a black community rant by Bill O’Reilly, a black news host was skewered on Twitter for his at times ridiculous remarks. Don Lemon recently took to his “No Talking Points” segment on CNN to agree with statements Bill O’Reilly made during a Fox news segment in which he called out single mothers, President Obama and civil rights leaders for issues in black America.
After noting that Bill O’Reilly was correct for noting that young black men raised without structure gravitate towards street culture, Lemon decided to tick off five things black people should do to “fix the problem.”
“He is right about that, too,” said Lemon. “But in my estimation, he doesn’t go far enough. Because black people, if you really want to fix the problem, here is just five things that you should think about doing: If you’re not doing this, then it doesn’t apply to you, I’m not talking to you,” he added.
Lemon’s points included stop sagging your pants, stop using the n-word, stop littering [yes, littering!], finish school and stop having children outside of wedlock.
And while some people supported Lemon’s obnoxiously easy fixes [why didn’t we think of those?!], a number of Twitter users blasted him for being ridiculous.
RT @ShampooCell: The problem definitely isn’t institutionalized racism, it’s sagging. Definitely sagging. #DonLemonLogic
