On sympathy for the Motherf—er:
I think the one redeeming quality is the fact that he lost his family. It’s the one thing you kind of believe. It’s messed up if you’re rooting for him — but if you are, it’s the one redeeming quality. It’s why he’s doing what he’s doing.
On how the character helped change his image in Hollywood:
I’d done a bunch of comedies before Kick-Ass so I think it was cool for people to see me do something darker, with a little more action involved.
On whether it was easy to return to the character of Chris D’Amico:
I think [our characters] had different arcs in this one. I feel we had a little more different character traits than our first movie, so it was a little easier.
