What a shame! University of Alabama art student Nicole March, 20, took her laptop to a local Best Buy store in Tuscaloosa, Ala. for repair back on Aug. 18, 2011. This past May 13, 2013, a Best Buy employee tipped her off that Edwin Kinloch emailed him a link to Piratesbay.sx where her nude photos were uploaded for sharing. Kinloch is not named as the original culprit. March, who once worked at Best Buy, was horrified to learn an unidentified Geek Squad tech played part in a scandal where her private files were shared online.
In her complaint, she claims to have suffered “severe mental anguish, embarrassment, and humiliation” from the theft. A Best Buy manager asked her as a “favor” not to ask who the actual culprit is behind this disgraceful act. March is seeking a financial settlement.
