B. Scott suing BET

After being asked to tone down his look for a more masculine appearance, a popular blogger is suing BET Networks for a whopping $2.5 million. As previously reported blogger B. Scott said he was “humiliated” after being asked to host the 2013 BET Awards pre-show and then forced to change his feminine outfit.

Scott, whose known for wearing stylish women’s wear, was asked to swap out a flowing tunic and high heels for a pair of flats and a suit. And even after the network apologized to the blogger for making him change, a defiant Scott denounced their apology.

“@BET’s non-apology statement has added more insult to injury. It was not a ‘miscommunication’ and what they did to me was intentional,” said Scott. “This was my day to come out in one of the biggest days of my career and I was publicly humiliated. I’m just hurt by it. I just want people to know that it’s ok to be who you are.”

Now according to court documents obtained by TMZ, Scott is suing the network for “discrimination based on gender identity as well as sexual orientation and at minimum is asking for $2.5 million.

BET has yet to publicly respond to the lawsuit. -danielle canada
