The second installment of White Lines starts off by recapping the bittersweet relationship between Sunny and Damien. The story details the demise of Damian in an unfortunate and ruthless murder and the toll it has taken on Sunny. She’s now left to care for their daughter, while trying to maintain her sanity after losing the one and only love she’s ever known.
Although this was a good read, the ending will leave you a little speechless. You will either love it or hate it. The book did shed light on the other fascinating characters, Jada and Born. Their story is so deep; I was kind of hoping the author would have told more about this couple and their future.
Brown set the bar extremely high with the first installment of White Lines, it’s difficult for the follow-up to be just as riveting. The second book is a great read and should definitely make your book club selection. However, I was instantly drawn to the other characters in the book and eager to hear their stories. Brown is working hard on putting the finishing touches on the final series White Lines Trilogy, and can guarantee that her readers will be pleasantly surprised and not disappointed with the closure that part three will bring. I can’t wait for the next one! -lili
