Police have yet to reveal a motive or what could have precipitated the brutal beating of the superstar NFL running back’s son, Ty Doheen, last week in Souix Falls, S.D. Authorities knew that when Patterson, 27, brought the baby to the hospital that he was going to die. He was reportedly brain dead upon arrival and had no chance of reversing the damage inflicted.
The only positive note to this sick, senseless tragedy was that Joseph Robert Patterson was alone with Ty Doheen, when his mother, Ashley Doheen, left for a short time and the infant suffered his injuries. Therefore, it was an open-and-shut case as Patterson could not come up viable or plausible alibi.
This isn’t this guy’s first brush with the law. He had a restraining order put out on him back in 2004 for violence against a woman. Last year, Patterson was hit with an assault charge for an attack on the mother of his biological son.
