It was a evening filled with sweet offerings at Sunny’s Hair & Wigs during the launch of Bravo star Africa Miranda’s “Girls With Curls” national tour. The petite powerhouse and breakout reality star rocked a hip-hugging electric blue dress accessorized with a choker made of precious pearls, rhinestones and a sparklers.
Teaming up with seasoned creative events agency, The Skky Brand, the extraordinary affair was created to empower women and young girls to embrace their beauty inside and out. Delectable cupcakes were plenteous and cocktails were flowing at the glitzy social which attracted fellow reality TV stars MiMi Faust, actress Sincerely Ward, Kontrol magazine’s Julian Lark, socialite Didi Skky and more of the city’s trendsetters.
“I’m so honored by the wonderful group of women that came out to support the launch of Girls With Curls. It was great to be able to connect in a more personal way with viewers and fellow Hairnistas. Girls With Curls is more than just a night about hair…it’s a chance for women to connect, share, and network. It’s about celebrating hair and beauty in all its shapes and forms,” offers Miranda.
The Girls With Curls multi-city tour will include Miranda’s hometown of Montgomery, Ala., Miami, Charlotte, Chicago, DC, and beyond. Its sister initiative, ‘Be A Girlfriend’ will also include stops at Historically Black Colleges and Universities such as Alabama State, Clark Atlanta University, Florida Memorial, Florida A & M University, Howard and more.
“My initiative, Be a Girlfriend, is so important to me because my personal and professional survival has been largely due to the support I have from my girlfriend circle. My goal for the HBCU tour is to help young women realize the decisions and connections they make can affect the rest of their lives. It will be taking “girl talk” to the next level.”
Sponsored by ORS Curls Unleashed and Sunny’s Hair & Wigs, guests had the opportunity to meet, tweet and greet as well as network, discover new beauty tips and techniques all while enjoying music, cupcakes by Chef Razia Burton of Fuller Food and complimentary Myx Fusion cocktails.
