Many “Love & Hip Hop” fans have been giving Amina Buddafly heaping doses of grief after she revealed to the world that she had married her manager and co-star, Peter Gunz, even though he was still involved in a longterm relationship with his ex-girlfriend, Tara Wallace. But one person who isn’t vilifying Amina is her co-star, Erica Mena, who claims that Amina is no different from Alicia Keys.
As many know, Alicia Keys was accused by Swizz Beatz’ ex-wife, Mashonda, of breaking up their marriage and stealing Swizz away even though she knew he was married. Alicia has denied that she had anything to do with the demise of their marriage, but Mashonda and more than a few fans have voiced their disbelief in her claim.
In Mena’s eyes, the only difference between Amina and Keys’ situations is that Amina (says) she didn’t know that Gunz was still in a relationship with Wallace.
“Alicia Keys did the same thing,” said Mena in a new interview with Juicy Magazine. “No one bashes her. It’s not talked about because it’s all about how the story gets put out there, but it’s the same scenario. The only thing different is Alicia Keys did know he was married.”
According to Mena, the person who is really at fault is Peter, who, ironically, claimed Mena was messy last season for sleeping with her manager, Rich Dollaz, who is also Peter’s best friend and business partner.
“You’re seeing a hypocrite at its best,” she said about Peter. “It’s sad that the same person that was giving all this great advice last year needs to be taking his own as much as anybody. Karma’s a b—- and as you can see, he’s deteriorating and his dirty feet aren’t getting far.”
Although many are placing all of the blame and criticism in the love triangle on Amina, Mena says that she actually supports Amina for standing her ground with Wallace.
The whole situation is messy in our eyes, but neither Keys nor Amina are the only ones who have been accused of stealing someone else’s lover. Check out some other infamous homewreckers below. – nicholas robinson
