New York City emcees have been seething for weeks after Atlanta native Trinidad James went on a now-infamous rant dissing the city’s hip-hop scene during his show. The backlash against James was swift, with rappers like Maino firing disses and getting into a heated phone convo with James.
But the situation has also led to rumors of violent attacks against James during his visits to NYC. Previously, there were claims that Maino orchestrated a robbery that saw the “All Gold Everything” rapper get jacked in Manhattan. James later denied that any such incident took place. Now, there are rumors that NYC’s Myshonne confronted James and a physical altercation ensued after a photo surfaced of them facing off. Rumors claim that Mysonne slapped the ATL star.
Myshonne tweeted about the situation.
“My n—a, its all about respect,” he tweeted. “Show me where a NY n—a went somewhere and down talked [sic] that place. The difference between me and most these n—as is I’m willing to die for my beliefs, for what I stand for. I ain’t just talking … You talking bout industry s–t, I’m talking in the street s–t … big difference.”
Myshonne previously released the James diss, “All Gold Robbery.”
