Hip-Hop Opened Up To The LGBT Community
Besides sports, the world of hip-hop has also been historically homophobic. But this past year, rap fans saw a number of hip-hop stars piggyback the landmark comments of Kanye West in stopping homophobia and embracing the LGBT community. Rappers like Jay Z, Snoop Dogg and A$AP Rocky all spoke out against homophobia, and Macklemore swept the charts with his gay-rights anthem, “Same Love,” proving hip-hop can be progressive as well.
