One of Lupe Fiasco’s best known songs is feel good story rap entitled, “Hip-Hop Saved My Life”, and that mantra may very well be the case for rapper Castro.
Hailing from the southeast side of Chicago, Castro almost fell victim to the lures of street life. He even did a six year prision sentence. What started as a childhood casual interest in music soon grew into a dedication that Castro says ultimately saved his life. Influenced by Hip-Hop mogul Jay Z and the Harlem based rap group, Dipset, Castro is focused on going down a path that would be conducive to his goal of one becoming a mogul in his own right.
After receiving the biggest jump to his career by collaborating with his brother in music, King L on “Murda Muzik”, Castro’s name has been spreading through the streets of Chicago as one of the hottest young rappers. With collaborations with the likes of Katie Got Bandz and YP. After receiving a consistently high level of interest for his latest music videos, Castro is primed to make his mark on the city.
His latest project is a six song EP called Welcome Home (The Prelude). It features the aforementioned King L assisted banger “Murda Muzik” and more.
Look for Castro’s full length debut in the very near future.
